This month brought a real shift in how we're approaching our work. Over the past year and a half, we've raised over $100,000 to fund next-gen nonprofit founders, guided by the idea of being the night sky that lets the stars shine.

But we've come to see our role differently. As much as we might wish otherwise, we're not the philanthropist. Our job is to unite Innovators with Investors, the people whose capital makes the work possible, representing the two “I”s in TRIIBE.

So we're taking it one step at a time: first building the infrastructure to channel capital to next-gen founders and make them fundable, before setting up our own foundation or DAF down the line to fund them ourselves.

We're grateful for how far the ecosystem has come. Combining the reach of those we support (our fellows and the TRIIBE I00) with those who've signed on to TRIIBE (our boards and members), the community now has more than 2 million followers. That's no small thing, and we don't take it for granted.

During this year’s UN High-Level Political Forum, TRIIBE partnered with the UN Global Compact, hosting a forum at the Penn Club on the future of innovation and education.

Friday, July 24th at 9:00 AM EST, TRIIBE is hosting our next TRIIBE Talk with Berkana: Next-gen perspectives on impact investing and philanthropy. The conversation will examine how donors are becoming investors, how nonprofits are developing for-profit structures to attract equity capital, and how innovative financing models are transforming the future of mission-driven organization.

Berkana is a private community of 100 impact-aligned women investors, each allocating $1M a year into purpose-driven ventures.

September 11-13th at Ideal Glass Studios, on 8th Street and 5th Avenue. 35 intergenerational speakers, including founders of 14 of the largest youth nonprofits in the US, the former head of social impact at the NBA, the former White House executive director of research and technology, and directors from family offices and foundations.

TRIIBE is excited to partner with SDG Youth Connect. Their 100+ members span 65 countries, and together we're bringing TRIIBE Talks to each one, amplifying next-gen voices wherever they're taking root. SDG Youth Connect Founder and CEO Derin Ege Sezgin will also be joining TRIIBE as the Head of UN Relations.

When planning how to set up our global branches, we ran into a problem: charitable funds can't move freely across borders. Our nonprofit branches in Singapore and India can't simply channel money to start a TRIIBE branch in Sierra Leone, Zambia, or the next market TRIIBE enters. Commercial revenue can.

That's why, underneath our nonprofit umbrella, we've built TRIIBE Horizon, a for-profit entity that operates commercially where nonprofits can't. Horizon earns its own revenue by selling sponsorships for the events and content promoted across TRIIBE's global channels, using it to expand the TRIIBE Model into new markets. Those returns flow back to the mission through dividends and brand royalties.

We’re excited to say the next fellowship for our US branch is about to be released. Semi-finalists are currently undergoing interviews, and we look forward to introducing them, alongside the next segment of the TRIIBE I00, in our next segment.
